I wanted to eat Tomyam at Sukhumvit. We arrived there a bit late, at around 1.30am. They informed us that kitchen is already closed. So, we went to the nearby option, Chop N Steak (a.k.a Kapal).
I ordered Crab Mix Sizzling. It taste similarly like Cantonese yee mee,
with additional flavor of the crab. I always love lotsa seafood and vege.
Adik Joe had Beef Rice Sizzling - with generous amount of beef I must say :)
And Kimi chose the simplest meal - chicken chop.
Coconut drink - wish its sweeter.
And my thought: This restaurant will take orders up to 2am. So if you happen to be hungry at 1.45am and you're in Kampung Baru, do give a visit!
Venue: Chop N Steak No 14 Jalan Daud Kampung Baru 50300 Kuala Lumpur
After spending some time in the office on Sunday, adik Joe and I planned to go to KL by train. We walked from OneUtama to Ikano Power Centre and took the free shuttle bus to Kelana Jaya. I think we walked more than 10,000 steps yesterday, and my tummy is flatter today (yeahh... right!). And of course, for completing the walking exercise, there's always food involved. For 3-days in a row, no rice for me. And I am OK with that :)
I don't have any idea why this is called chicken chop. It taste more
like grilled chicken. And the thick, blackpepper gravy... so shedapppp!
Adik Joe ate the aglio olio. This spaghetti is just OK and reasonably-priced.
The iced chocolate will definitely bring me back here. I believe it is made of Cadbury's chocolate. For RM5, do give it a try!
Then we also had hot coffee and kuih bingka ubi and seri muka at the kopitiam inside Sogo.
And my thought: never judge a book by its cover. The price on the menu looks cheap, but the food is surprisingly nice.
Venue: SHOGO Cafe LG Floor, Kompleks Sogo 190 Jalan Tunku Abd Rahman 50100 Kuala Lumpur
Price:
Chicken Chop RM12.00
Aglio Olio RM8.90
Iced Chocolate RM5.00 [nice and cheap!]
Lychee RM3.00/can [if just buy from Sogo supermarket nextdoor, it will cost, I think, RM1.30 cheaper. Hahaha]
Me and adik Joe decided to watch Hansel & Gretel last Saturday nite. Before movie started, to kill time, we went to have some light dinner. Located on the ground floor of Tesco, its a small cafe serving sandwiches, pastries and western cuisine.
I had the foot long sausage with nice gravy.
Adik Joe's chicken & cheese sandwich is a really, very cheesily toast. [I am absolutely sure Kimi will love this].
I had iced chocolate and adik Joe enjoyed his iced cappuccino.
And my thought: this is the place if you want to get a quick fix of a not-so-hungry tummy.
I am working today. And in order to ensure my eyes are wide open and I make no silly mistake, I need food. What is my comfort food in dealing with emotional/physical stress? I think I will just eat anything. Scary ehhh? And for teatime today, other than the hazelnut Old Town White coffee, I bought some buns from Lavender. I always love the fluffiness, softness and freshness of Lavender bread.
Golden Blueberry Bun

It always rain nowadays, usually late evening or at night. I have nothing against rain. It keeps my body cool. Yeah, I am the type who needs to have the aircond/fan switched on 24/7. Just like fish needs water, I need to feel the air. It was raining, and we went to Kota Damansara to have our late dinner.
"We" here refer to me and my 2 beloved brothers Kamil Hakimi (a.k.a Kimi) and Azizul Hakimi (a.k.a adik Joe). Adik Joe is back for the long-weekend (public holidays on Thursday and coming Monday). Dua-dua konon-kononnya pemalu.
Kimi had the Sup Campur (mixed soup with oxtail). I think Gulam Mee is
quite famous for its sup campur. Kimi said it is almost as good as Sup
Haji Abu Bakar @ Jalan Doraisamy, Asian Heritage row.
And I had special mamak fried mee. What made it special is the peanut sauce ~ mixed it with the noodles and yummmy! The special ones served with chicken/beef. Maybe they were out of chicken last nite, so mine was cooked with beef slices.
Adik Joe ordered chicken fried rice. I didn't take a bite last night, so I wouldn't comment further.
We also had otak-otak while waiting for the food to be served. Not bad :).
Lai chee kang is quite disappointing. I was hoping to drink the one with
snow fungus, red dates, barley and kembang semangkuk (malva nut). At the price I am paying, I did expect a better one!
And my thought: Gulam Mee is a place of choice if you don't mind eating with crowds and being patience with the waiting time (so I heard. We went quite late hence the service was good). Its a huge place to hang out with friends watching football match, etc. No game last night, and we watched The Rock sang "You Look Horrible Tonight" in WWE. Man, it was hilarious!
Sebelum kami balik, ada makcik jual kerepek datang. Each time I saw them, I feel like, what if I ended up having no kids in the future, and having nothing else to do to earn the money? Except selling chips and cookies? I always try to teach my brothers, always do good to others. It only costs RM10.00 for 3 packs. Watch their faces. Allahuakbar! When they said "thank you, nak", with full of appreciation, always is the cause to my teary eyes.
It must be hard for her to earn more at Gulam Mee's area. I saw too many refusals. Come on! You can buy Samsung, iPhone and all other gadgets, but can't afford RM10? Like, seriously?
Kuih ros, from the makcik of course. Thank you makcik! Saya memang pemakan tegar!

Steamed Rice RM1.50
Mamak fried mee (special) RM8.50

Its 24th January 2013 [12 Rabi'ul Awal 1434 H]. Its Maulidur Rasul (the birthday of Prophet Muhammad SAW). As usual, a workaholic will always work - public holiday or not :). A friend says, "you're not Malaysian. You're actually Salisian - a country of your own". Why? Because my role supports 7 countries, and each country has its own PH, and always differ from others, ending up with me working on those days.
So for today, I have to find something nice nextdoor. Working in a building next to the shopping complex, I never have problems to find food (but choosing the place can be a dilemma too). I decided to eat lunch at Nyonya Colors OneUtama, accompanied by Farah W and Farah L (thank you sis!)
My main menu is Penang assam laksa. I love the good taste of the gravy. I love the pineapple sweet and sour flavor. I love the fish chunks. The combination of all the stuffs is just perfect to my mouth.
I also ordered the tasty green bean soup - well, actually cooked with coconut milk. And also fresh lime & sour plum drink (this is super masam but I keep ordering the same drink everytime).
This is my favorite food - fruit rojak. But this time, Farah W ordered this for her lunch. The mix of thick dark brown rojak sauce and crushed peanuts on top of the fruits: cucumber, pineapple, green mangoes, yam bean (saya baru tau yam bean is sengkuang), and i-don't-know-what-type-of-flour fritters - totally irresistible!
And finally, we also had cucur udang (Shrimp Fritters). This should be eaten while they're still hot. Otherwise, it will be just an overpriced food :)
And my thought: Nyonya Colors offers delicious nyonya kueh and snacks, light meals and desserts. Kueh is a bit pricey, but they are definitely tasty! Venue:
